Actually Anna Christmas Countdown Day 20: My favourite Christmas movies

Christmas movies

In my Christmas essentials post I promised I’d do a separate one about my favourite Christmas movies. So… here it is! I have to admit I haven’t seen all the traditional Christmas movies like The Gringe and Elf. That’s why I thought it might be fun to share my favourite Christmas movies! I’ve split them up in three parts: the traditional once, romantic comedies and fantasy. I’ll explain in every part why I feel like they are Christmas movies.

The traditional ones

Although I haven’t seen Christmas movies like Elf and The Gringe, I have seen other traditional Christmas movies. My favourite one I always want to watch during Christmas are the Home Alone movies. They just give me such a cosy Christmas feeling whenever I watch them. If I have to pick a favourite I think it has to be the first Home Alone movie. I love the end where Kevin has set all kind of booby traps inside the house. This part always makes me laugh so much!

Romantic comedies

I don’t think the romantic comedy Christmas movies are considered traditional once. Though, the one that always make me feel very Christmassy is The Holiday. I’ve watched that movie so many times already and I still love it. It’s just the perfect romantic story, which is very appropriate during Christmas.

Fantasy

I could have named this part just Harry Potter, but I thought fantasy is a more general name. I don’t think Harry Potter is considered a Christmas movie, but I just love to watch it during Christmas. It just gives me the Christmas vibes when I watch it. All the Harry Potter movies take me to a magical world for just 1.5 hours, which is maybe why I love to watch this during Christmas. I don’t have a favourite Harry Potter part and if you make me choose one… I can’t!

I hope you liked reading about my not so traditional favourite Christmas movies!

The Holiday is one of my favorites, too! I watch it every year. Someday I’ll spend Christmas in some cozy English cottage…and maybe Jude Law will show up at my door! 🙂

Ok, I want you to get your shoes on and immediately go purchase ELF. If you have on demand I want you to watch it right now. I’m half tempted to set up a GOFUNDME account for you and buy you a DVD copy of ELF. That is one of the best Christmas movies on Earth!!!!
