Actually Anna Christmas Countdown Day 2: The Mystery Blogger award

I haven’t done much Blogger Awards/Tags in a while. When Jasmine from Thoughts From Jasmine nominated me for The Mystery Blogger Award, I thought I’d do another one. I really like the thoughts behind this Blogger Award created by Okoto Enigma. On her blog she writes:

Three things about me

If all goes well I’m going to graduate for my masters degree the end of May 2018. This also means that I have to apply for real adult jobs soon. Really scary and exciting at the same time. I feel like I really have to grow up now and act like an adult.

All schools I’ve attended and educations I’ve done, I re-did one year or spend one year studying longer. I did ‘groep 8’ (the last year in Dutch primary schools) twice in primary school, because I had to go to gymnastics practice a lot during the day. I also spend one year longer in high school, because in the 5th year of the highest level (VWO) I decided to go to 4th year in the middle level (HAVO). During my PE education I did a primaster in my 4th year, which made me decide to postpone my final internship and spend an extra year studying for my PE degree. I’m really glad I made this decision, because at the time I was quite stressed out. The 5th year of my PE degree I decided to extend my final internship to a teacher training internship at the French School in The Hague. I’m so happy I did this, because I had such a good time and made really good friends. After my PE degree I started my Master degree and before even starting I decided to do this in two years instead of one. When I started my Master degree I just had an ACL surgery I had to recover and rehabilitate from and I’m doing gymnastics (again) quite a lot.

I’ve actually done quite a lot of sports, to be specific … in total. I’ve done peed skating, swimming, (general) dancing, classical ballet, jazz ballet, athletics, tennis, field hockey and gymnastics at a sports club. And during the winter I’ve also done skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing.

Jasmines’ questions

How did you come up with your blog name? I really thought about my blog name for quite a while and I have to say it’s quite hard to think about a unique one. I already knew that I didn’t wanted to use my full name (Annaleid), because no one would be able to remember it and write it correctly. I thought about a name with coffee in it, because I really love coffee. Though, I thought I’m going to write blogposts about topics that are close to me. So why not name it “Actually Anna”, the way Anna(leid) actually is.

What’s the most difficult blogpost you’ve written? I don’t know. I don’t think there’s a specific blogpost that was difficult to write, but there are phases that I find it difficult to write posts at all. Most of the time when university is completely crazy and I’m really tired from studying. These days my head is just tired and I feel like I lack inspiration or creativity to write. Though, this only happens when I’m really really tired (like during writing my thesis). Most of the time wiring blogposts is relaxing to me and a nice change from university.

Have you considered going self-hosted (and if you already are, what pushed you to)? I went self-hosted in april this year and I really thought about it for a long time before finally making the decision. I was umming and ahing for a long time, because there are just so many companies out there offering all kind of hosting packages. During one of the blogger twitter chats a fellow blogger recommended FastComet to me and I was really pleased with their service and pricing. This is what pushed me to finally go self-hosted.

What’s your dream career? I don’t know yet. All I know is that my dream career has to offer a challenge and has to vary (not every day the same). Though, at the moment (when I finish my master degree) I really would like programming/ data analysis job. I really love programming and data analysing, so that’s what I would apply for after I graduate. If it’s my dream career, I don’t know. We’ll see!

If you were a vegetable which one would you be? I think I would be a strawberry 🙂
