How to accomplish my new years resolution more me time.

me time

One of my New Years resolutions I spoke about in my New Years resolutions and goals for 2018 post was to plan more me time. I think that planning more me time is really important these days, because information travels so fast these days. Social media, internet, phones are all within reach and it’s easy to lose yourself in it. Spending time to relax and clear your mind is really important (at least for me) to be able to sleep better and enjoy life more. So I came up with some ideas that could help me (and hopefully you too) to spend some me time. I’d love to know what you do during your ‘me time’!

Pampering

The first thing that always comes up when I think about relaxing and spending some me time is a pamper session. During these sessions I love to take a nice shower (if I had a bath I would do that), use some divine smelling shower creams and treat myself with a hair mask. After the shower I usually put on a face mask, which is when relaxing starts. I usually light some candles and paint my nails or read a book. When it’s time to wash off my mask I’m usually completely relaxed and ready to attack the next challenge that I’ll face.

Reading

When I think of spending me time I also think about reading. University makes me read all kind of articles about research, which doesn’t make me keen on reading in my down time. Though, I think I should do this more often, because I used to love reading when I was younger. I’m really into reading motivational books at the moment, like Little Black Book or #GIRLBOSS. These books really make me motivated to do stuff and feel like I accomplished something.

Playing piano

Playing the piano is also a thing that I do way to little. I really love playing the piano and teaching myself new pieces to play. Besides a workout playing the piano is a thing that can really clear my mind. Though, I’m not very good at it I just love creating music or listening to it.

Meditation

I’ve heard so many good benefits of meditating, but I’ve actually never tried it myself. I know there are so many apps out there that guide you through a meditation and I used to have the Rituals app on my phone, but like I said I’ve never tried it properly. It’s something that I would love to have in my evening or morning routine, but I think I just don’t know where to start. If you have please leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of it.
