During the colder seasons my skin always becomes very dry. I try to protect it from the cold and use as much moisturizing products as I can. So in the post below I’ll explain you my morning skincare routine for Autumn and Winter.
The first step in my routine is cleansing. I don’t like to splash my face full of water in the morning. That’s why I chose to use the La Roche Posay Toleraine cleanser. I put the cleanser on a cotton pad and swipe it around my face, avoiding the eye area. This cleanser is not stripping down your face, hence why I like it during the autumn-winter time.
After the cleanser had some time to sink in, I use the Kiehl’s Ultra facial toner on a cotton pad as well. I feel like this toner removes the residue that the La Roche cleanser left on my face, while toning it at the same time. This cleanser is a little thicker compared to an micellar water and has a milk like consistency. I wouldn’t say this is especially a hydrating toner, but it doesn’t dry out the skin as well.
The next step in my routine is a serum. In the morning I always like to use lightweight products that are very moisturizing. The serum I use at the moment is Vichy Aqualia thermal serum. It has quite a runny consistency and sinks in to the skin quickly. I usually apply about one pump of this onto my whole face. Which gives me a nice base for the day and eye cream I use.
After the serum I use an eye cream. I had to search quite a long time to find an relatively affordable eye cream with SPF. For me SPF in an eye cream is important, because this is the most fragile area of the face. Which ages the quickest without protection from the sun. After quite a search I found the Korres wild rose eye cream SPF 15. The cream is a little thicker than I would like for day use, but it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling to the eye area. I use about half a pee size and apply it in tapping motions with my ring fingers around my eyes. This cream is very hydrating and makes makeup apply easier on top of it.
The last step in my routine is a day cream. At the moment I use the Diadermine hydratant moisturizer. This has a build in UV filter and is again moisturizing. Although this day cream is for normal to combination skin, it’s still hydrating enough. It has a light consistency, but it doesn’t absorb immediately into the skin. After applying, it leave the skin feeling a little bit sticky, which makes the makeup ‘stick’ to the skin a lot easier.I hope you enjoyed reading this post, if you did let me know in the comments below!
