I just saw that I haven’t done an exciting new discoveries post since May this year! I know it has been a long time and a lot has happened since. If you follow my blog you know that since then I graduated, got a job/work at a bank 40 hours a week. So I thought it was about time that I’d do an exciting new discoveries post. This time I’ll discuss the things that I discovered during the month August.
Makeup
I finally bought it! A travel size version of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Dim Light. When I visited Belfast at the beginning of August I bought this powder and I absolutely love this. It first of all sets your makeup and makes sure it doesn’t move during the day. Besides that it just gives your makeup a subtle glow! And the best thing is that it doesn’t make your makeup look caky! I’m definitely considering buying more of these powders or maybe the palette. What would you recommend?
Another makeup item that I bought in July, but actually discovered in August was M.A.C. Velvet Teddy. I already had the travel size of this lipstick, but at the airport I decided that I ‘needed’ (yes, I know you don’t need lipsticks is what my boyfriend would say…) that one in a full size. And I really love this color. It’s a slightly more out there nude, which I still can wear to work! Even though it is a matte lipstick I don’t find it drying on my lips!
Hair removal
Since I have a full time job now I though it was time to change my hair removal device. I’ve always shaved my legs, armpits etc. and I’ve thought about buying an epilator for a long time. Though I didn’t wanted to buy a cheap one, because they tend to be more painful and less precise. So when I got my second pay check I decided it was time to invest in an epilator. Lily Pebbles talked about the Braun epilating decides on her channel, especially about the Braun Silk Epil 9. So I decided to go for this one! You can use it wet and dry, which is really nice if you’re epilating for the first time! And it has a lot of different heads you can use. I do have to say that you have to get used to the feeling of epilating, but besides that I would really recommend it!
Nails
After having a gel mani/pedi in Belfast I felt that my nails were quite dry, so I bought the Kruidvat 8 in 1 complete care nail. This really helps my nails to get back to normal! You do need to put a couple of layers on, because a thing single layer tends to peel off. If I want a color on my nails I use the Sally Hansen Color Therapy nail polish, because it is infused with oil!
Jewellery
The last one is actually a rediscovery! I’ve had my jewellery sitting in a box for quite a long time. When I still did gymnastics 4 times a week I didn’t bother wearing any jewellery, because I had to take it off and on every single practice. Now I rediscovered my own jewellery stash, actually due to my boyfriend. He was asking if I could change my earrings a bit more often, since I never really did that. Ever since I’m wearing earrings, a watch and/or bracelet to work almost every day. And I’m changing up my earrings more often! Thanks Jordy 🙂
I hope you liked reading about the (re)discoveries I did during August. If you have anything that you’d recommend to me please let me know in the comments below!

I watch Lily Pebbles also and I’ve been going back and forth about whether or not I want to try that epilator, but I may just have to give it a go, I get so tired of shaving all the time.
Thanks for sharing! x

Yes I got tired of shaving too! You shave your legs and the next day you could basically do it all over again. I love my epilator and it really helps to keep your hairs away for a longer period of time!
