Autumn Winter skincare changes

skincare, autumn, winter, changes

I always notice that during the colder months my skin needs a little something extra. It’s just dry and quickly irritated, which is something I don’t want to happen. Therefore, I always change something in my skincare routine during the end of September or the beginning of October. This year I have some amazing products and tips for you to share, so let’s get started!

Moisturisers

Something I always change between the colder and warmer months are my moisturisers. I notice that during Autumn and Winter my skin needs a lot of hydration, so a good hydrating moisturiser is an absolute must for my skin. At the moment I’m testing out the Iris Intensive Hydrating daydream from Weleda*and the Skin Food from Weleda*. I use the Iris daydream during the day (obviously…) and the Skin Food during the night. Both creams are very affordable and very hydrating. I’ll let you know my final thoughts when I’ve tried them out for a longer period, but for now I really love the creams. They are definitely going to save my skin during the winter!

Serums

Going from moisturisers to serums (or actually oils) is going from Weleda to Kiehls. I’ve always loved Midnight Recovery Concentrate from Kiehls, because it just heals my skin overnight. If I have any blemishes or scars it just takes care of them almost literally over night. When I was in the shop to buy this serum again they gave me a tester to try out the Daily Reviving Concentrate, which is a sister or brother from the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I know that the night one is far more popular compared to the day serum. Maybe it is because people just don’t like the sound of oil on their face during the day? I just ran out of my Avene Hydrance Intense Serum, so I’m in the proces of trying this one out too. I’ll let you know my thought when I’ve tried this product for a longer period of time as well. First thought on this one are again very good! I love this product and I think (Yes, I know this is a dangerous one…) that it might be better than The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B2 serum. Although, I really love that one too and if you’re on a budget it’s an awesome hydrating serum.

Eye and lip care

Of course we shouldn’t forget eye care and lip balms. I’m still in the process of finding the perfect eye cream that leaves my under eyes nice and hydrated without paying a fortune. At the moment I’m trying out the Lancome Renergie Yeux Multi-Lift, which is anything but affordable. Though, I got a sample a while ago in a Lancome gift pack so I thought I would try it out. I have to say I really love this eye cream, although because of the price I don’t think I would buy the full size. Just because I’m not 60 yet and I don’t have a lot of wrinkles underneath my eyes. If I would have them, I would definitely buy this eye cream! I have a couple of samples of the Kiehls Avocado eye treatment, which I’m going to try out next. If you have any recommendations please let me know! And than my absolute favourite lip balm of all time is the Nuxe Reve de Miel. I don’t have anything else to say than just try it and you’ll see its absolutely amazing!

If you have any recommendation or tips to get your skin through the winter period, please let me know in the comments below!
