Today I want to talk about the Douglas clean beauty with you. Douglas now has a complete area on their website with all clean beauty products. They range from makeup and skincare to haircare and even perfume. It’s very convenient to have all these clean beauty products in one spot ready for you to shop. In this post I’d like to show you a few products that I chose from the online Douglas Clean Beauty Department. I tried to pick products from all categories and in different price ranges because if there is one thing I have learned about Clean Beauty it is that it doesn’t have to be expensive!

The Douglas Clean Beauty Section

I think clean beauty is a very hot topic nowadays and I can definitely see why. We are very conscious with what we put in our mouths for a very long time now, but what we put on our skin is equally important. Clean beauty focusses on ingredients that are not harmful for our skin. Should we now all of a sudden throw away all of our ‘non clean’ beauty products? If you ask me I’d say ‘no not at all’.

Throwing away products that are still good to go, just because you want to start all over again is not the way to go. At least that’s in my opinion. I’d use up the things you still have or, if you want to start all over, give them away. Before we go into what I bought at the Douglas Clean Beauty section I would like the opportunity to say this first.

Don’t be ashamed if you still want to use products that are considered ‘non-clean’ products. With this post, I would like to show you where to find clean beauty products when you’re looking for them. And most important: make you aware of the fact that it exists! So now let’s go into the products.

Benecos cosmetics

If you’re looking for a makeup brand that is both affordable and good for the environment, Benecos cosmetics is a good go-to brand. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful Benecos products on the Douglas website and it occurred to me that this brand is very affordable. I chose to try out this Benecos natural compact powder foundation. Although it says it is a mattifying powder, it is super finely mild, which makes it very suitable for my dry skin. The color if the Benecos foundation was also a perfect match, which was amazing since I had to choose it via the internet.

Dr. Hauschka

Dr. Hauschka Toothpaste

I think from the brands that I’ve seen in the Clean Beauty section Dr. Hauschka was one of the more expensive brands. It holds a very wide range of products, from skincare to dr Hauschka make up products. So I decided to choose a product that you’d maybe normally not go for in the first place: Dr. Hauschka toothpaste. I’ve tried many eco-friendly kinds of toothpaste over time and this one is one of my favorites. I really like the minty flavor, which is really important for me. Although it doesn’t really foam I feel like it cleans my teeth very well and leaves me with a fresh breath. Also very important!

The light reflecting concealer Dr. Hauschka

The second Dr Hauschka make up product that caught my eye was the Light Reflecting Concealer in Translucent. Yep, a translucent concealer is exactly the reason why it caught my eye. I was very curious to find out what this product does. After applying it on my hand (as you can see in the picture) it doesn’t seem to be translucent, but when you pat it into your skin it basically disappears.

The weird and yet amazing thing is when I apply it to the inner corner of my eyes, it really lifts the dark area. This makes my eyes look much more awake. The light reflecting concealer dr. Hauschka makeup product is the first product I’ve tried so far, and I can’t wait to try more!

Tealogy

The next product that I chose was the eye mask from Teaology. They use the benefits of tea in sheet masks and other skin care products. Which made me very curious! After reading about the products on their website I found out that they actually infuse tea in the skin care products, which I think is really cool. Besides that, they also substitute all the water in their products, which I also love! The eye mask was very moisturising, which is something I really love in an eye mask!

Najel Aleppo Soap

The last product that I chose is one that I hadn’t heard about before writing this post. It is from the brand Najel, which makes the most beautiful soap products. The Najel Aleppo Soap soap is also called Aleppo soap and is made with the same ingredients for almost 4000 years now. It comes from Aleppo in Syria, hence the name Aleppo soap. It only contains completely compostable ingredients, which makes it very environmentally friendly. Besides that, it smells amazing! The minerals from the dead sea in this soap will make your skin feel very soft!

So I hope you have a bit of an idea what kind of products you can find in the Douglas Clean Beauty section. Maybe you’ll find some products that you’ve already been using or discover some great new brands as I did. Leave me a comment down below, which product was your favorite?

I used to work for them but in Italy, we still don’t have the clean beauty section, it would be super helpful!

Ohh that’s so cool! I hope they’ll implement that in Italy very soon too! Didn’t know there was a Douglas in Italy as well though. I would be very curious to hear if the brands they stock are the same as here in the Netherlands!
