Let’s have a catch up!

catch up, chat, life update

Like I already said in last Sunday’s post, I haven’t blogged, made youtube videos or been on social media for the last couple of weeks. I wanted to give you a little life update and catch up in today’s post!

Quitting gymnastics

Due to a fall on my back and head halfway through January this year I had to make the decision to quit gymnastics. I’m still suffering from whiplash symptoms and had to unfortunately make the decision to quit gymnastics earlier than I anticipated. This was quite a hard decision, because I never wanted to quit gymnastics due to an injury. Though, I really couldn’t do anything during the practices. This made the decision to quit easier on one hand, but it made it even harder on the other hand. I’m planning on doing a dedicated post on my gymnastics experience, so keep an eye out!

Thesis update

I can finally say that my thesis is in the finishing process. In the next couple of weeks I’m finally able to present/defend it. Before that it needs to be approved, but I think (and hope) that it will be fine. I can’t wait until I receive my well deserved EC (study points) for my master research project. It has taken a lot longer than I wanted and a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

Finishing off my masters degree

Last month I had the last two official exams for my masters degree. I’m now taking two extracurricular courses in artificial intelligents (and another one in two months). Though, I haven’t had my grades back for the obligatory exams (fingers crossed!). So the idea that I’m going to graduate in the next couple of months and have to start applying for jobs is really kicking in.

Applying for jobs

Which takes me onto the next subject: applying for jobs. I want to start working as a data analyst/data scientist from the 1st of July. After this week (which is quite a stressful/busy week) I’m going to start applying for jobs. Wish me luck!

Besides all of this I just had a lot going on, which always makes my mind a big mess. If you’d like me to write a post about getting structure in your head and how I try to achieve that let me know in the comments below! I’ve a lot of fun video and blog ideas planned, so keep an eye out on my blog, channel and social media accounts!

You’re doing so well. Shame you had to give up the Gymnastics but sometimes health comes first xx

Tough that one. Having to give up something you love because injury or life changes say otherwise. Feel for you there. Had a similar issue with martial arts way back.

The rest is all positive though. Very positive in fact so stick at it and good look with thesis and the Masters.

Quitting gymnastics must be hard, but with an injury you can never be too careful. It is important o take care of your body so you can be good in the long term. Good luck with the new job!
