My skincare heroes for acne prone skin

skincare, heroes, acne prone skin

The last couple of months I’ve mentioned my skin a lot during blogposts and my youtube videos. My skin went quite bad for some reason especially around my jawline. For the first couple of months I had no clue what was going on with my skin and I felt pretty bad about it. So I’ve been trying out all kind of different products to get my skin back to normal and I promised you whenever I felt like I tested it enough I would let you know what helped my skin get better. No surprise… this is the post where I’m going to tell you all about it πŸ˜‰

La Roche Posay – Serozinc

This spray is supposed to reduce irritation on the skin. You can use the Serozink spray from La Roche Posay to reduce razor burn or other inflammations on the skin. I use it after I cleansed and toned my skin both in the morning and at night. I feel like this really reduces the redness and inflammation on my skin.

NIP + FAB fix pads

These glycolic fix gentle pads for sensitive skin are amazing for your skin. They are also very useful for traveling, because they are pre soaked pads. I use them once in a while to really exfoliate my skin and I also feel like my skin likes glycolic acid better than other exfoliating acids.Β

Avene rehydrating serum

This Avene Intense rehydrating serum is amazing for your skin. Especially for my skin since it is acne prone and also dry. Sometimes I’ve heard that people think you should not put hydrating products on acne prone skin. Though I think (and in my experience) that the products taped for you skin tend to help the best. If your skin is (like mine) dry and sensitive/acne prone Β make sure you also use hydrating products, because when you only use products against acne it will dry out your skin and you skin will not find it’s balance. At least that’s what I’ve experienced!

Advanced night repair

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is definitely a cult product. Since it’s very expensive I bough a travel size, which was part of a skin care travel size pack. I think this product is worth the hype, because it definitely reduced the texture on my skin. I use this about once a week as a treatment and I love it!Β

What I didn’t mention is the fact that I changed my birth control method. I was using hormones that my body (and skin) didn’t really get along with, so changing this helped tremendously! And another product that is not in this post, but is definite a skincare hero for me is the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate! When I finish the oil that I’m currently using, I’m definitely going to repurchase this again!

If you have any product that helped you skin recover from acne let me know! I understand how difficult it can be if your skin is not having the best time. I hope this post can help others to find products that help their skin get better and don’t forget to comment your skincare heroes below so we can help each other!

  1. I think I’m definitely going to give Serozinc by La Roche-Posay a try! I have so much trouble with my skin getting oily – I use witch hazel a lot which works *most* of the time but I definitely need to bring in reinforcements that aren’t face masks! Thanks for the advice x

  2. Hi Anna! New follower here πŸ€— I’m going through a breakout right now and what has helped a bit is the
Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal 2-in-1 Scrub and Cleanser. I use it 2x/wk because my skin is so sensitive and doesn’t like too much salicylic acid. Also, raw honey has been so far the best everyday cleanser for me to use.

I want to try La Roche-Posay products, I hear amazing things about it for the skin. Nice post!
