Last week I attended a PR event from Biocare online, where they introduced the new vegan beauty brand Inika to us! This brand was completely new to me, but as you might know I tried another vegan beauty brand before. So I wasn’t completely new to the vegan beauty industry! Since my previous experiences with vegan makeup were really good, I was very excited to try another vegan beauty brand.
Inika is an Australian beauty brand that is not only Certified Vegan, but also Hallal, Certified Organic, CCF Tested and has an Organic Cosmetics certification. This is a mouth full of certifications, but it basically means that Inika doesn’t test is cruelty free, doesn’t contain any harmful or animal based ingredients and only uses ethically sourced ingredients. During the presentation about Inika they told us that Inika was used at New York Fashion Week last year! I think it’s amazing that fashion designers chose a vegan beauty brand as their makeup brand during their fashion show!
And of course I’m going to talk about the Inika products that I’ve tried so far. We got to chose three products that we really wanted to try, so I chose the Liquid Foundation, Baked Bronzer and Duo Blush.
Organic Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid
I chose the Organic Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid because the fact that it has hyaluronic acid in it. My skin is very dry especially during the winter, so anything with hyaluronic acid is going to save it. I initially thought I was the shade Nude/Cream, but in the end after trying it on my skin during the event I chose the shade Porcelain. The swatch of the foundation is below, so you can see how it matches my skin. I’ve already used this foundation a couple of times and it applies really wel with both a brush and a beauty blender. It blends beautifully and it stays put during the day! I would say it has a medium coverage, so far I’m very impressed with this foundation!
Baked Mineral Bronzer
This Baked Mineral Bronzer is absolutely amazing. You really need the tiniest amount, because otherwise – with my fair skin – it looks like I’ve been in the sun for three weeks. This bronzer has two shades: Sunbeam and Sunkissed. I would say that this shade is perfect for my skin tone, as you can see in the picture below with the swatch on my hand. I had to apply quite a lot to make it visible, so normally it would blend very beautifully with the rest of my makeup! So far also very impressed with this bronzer!
Baked Blush Duo
This baked blush duo has two shades that you could use separately or blend together into one shade. I really like them blend together, because it gives a bit of a peachy/pink shade. Separately one is more peach and the other half is more pink. You also need the tiniest amount of this blush, so a little goes a long way! The pigmentation is impressive and the blush gives a beautiful sheen too. I wouldn’t describe this as a matte blush at all. It gives a nice pop of color with a healthy glow to your cheeks. So also very impressed with the blush so far!
Overall as you might have noticed already I’m very impressed by the products from Inika. I would definitely want to try more of them! For example I’m very interested in their concealer and the light reflect cream!
