Zero waste shampoo has been on the market for quite a while but really became popular during 2020. Shampoobar.nl is a new Dutch shampoo bar brand I recently discovered. They sell a variety of shampoo bars for all different types of hair, as well as zero waste conditioner bars. Are you curious to find out what I think about this new shampoo bar brand?

Zero waste shampoo and conditioner bars
Shampoobar.nl doesn’t only develop shampoo bars, but they also have zero waste conditioner bars in their webshop. I mentioned ‘develop’ for a reason, because every single shampoo bar is developed by hand in The Netherlands. How cool?! The process of creating these shampoo and conditioner bars is sustainable and as much plastic-free as possible.
The packaging they use is 100% plastic-free and completely recyclable. They’ve also thought about plastic-free and sustainable shipping, because mine came in a tiny little box! If you order more of their products they use plastic-free and recyclable packaging materials. And last but certainly not least your shampoo is delivered by bike!

Shampoo bar for greasy hair
This Dutch company has shampoo for almost every hair type. There’s zero waste shampoo for greasy hair, normal hair, dry hair, and even a purple shampoo bar for blond hair! I chose a shampoo bar for greasy hair with a citrus scent. And let me tell you the scent is absolutely amazing!
One thing that I noticed straight away, was the consistency of this shampoo bar. Other shampoo bars tend to get quite soggy and squishy when they get into contact with water. Although this one really keeps its shape and is very easy to apply to your hair. I also noticed that you just need a small amount of product, because this shampoo bar creates a lot of foam!
Overall I’m very impressed by these new shampoo and conditioner bars and I can’t wait to try more of their products. Have you tried a shampoo bar before? Let me know in the comments below!

I must check out our local market to see if we have this no waste shampoo bar. I’m very happy you told us about the one you use because I also have greasy hair and my worries are always connected with the aspect of eliminating build-up and not over-drying the hair 🙂 Thanks for the review and recommendation!

There are so many brands nowadays that sell shampoo bars! I know this post was about a local brand, but I know Garnier for example also recently launched a shampoo bar in their Loving Blends Range. Maybe they’ll have that in your local market? Let me know in which country you live and I might be able to help out. I wrote about a couple of different shampoo bar brands already 🙂
