Monday next week it’s going to be the day… I’m going to start my first day at my first ‘real adult job’. If I say that I’m not nervous at all I would be lying. That’s why I thought I would tell you how I’m preparing, because that’s what I do when I’m nervous. And of course I’d love some tips, tricks and advice about your first day at work. How did you experience it? How did you prepare? And how did you thought it went?
Whenever I’m nervous for a certain event I always like to decide in advance what I’m going to wear. So for my first day at work I’m going to wear black dress pants, a white top with pink accent buttons and my black loafers. And if it’s going to be cold I’m going to wear a nice long sleeve knit. (Yes, I’ve also already decided that…)
I always like to have fresh and new stationary whenever I start a new event or phase. For the last years I’ve always bought a new diary for every new year in school/university. That’s why I thought it would be a nice idea to buy a new one for when I start my new job. Though, it hasn’t arrived yet. It should arrive this Friday, so it will still be in time for my first day at work. I also was very kindly send this super sweet notebook from my penpall Lizzy Arkell for my birthday. So of course this one is going in my handbag too.
Relax and prepare
If I’m stressed or nervous I really like to make sure I have some me time the night before. I’m going to have one of the new face masks from Dr. Van Der Hoog and read a magazine. And I might also paint my nails when I’m wearing the facemask. Those are usually the things I do when I try to relax and have some me time.
I hope you liked reading about my preparation for my first day at work. And of course like I said in the beginning of this post, I’d love to hear your advice!
