Review | Deciem (The Ordinary)

Since I’ve heard Fleur de Force talk about the products and the concept of Deciem the company intrigued me. Deciem is the umbrella company of many brands like The Ordinary, NIOD, Chemistry Brand and many other ones. This company makes quality beauty products with high-end ingredients and strip down the packaging to the minimum needed. Which is why they can keep the prices low. Like they say on their website they are the abnormal beauty company.

The brand I’m going to talk about in this review is The Ordinary. This is one of the more budget friendly brands of the Deciem company. Another aspect that intrigued me into the brand is the fact that the products don’t specifically say what they are supposed to do. They just explain the main ingredients of the product and what the ingredients mainly target. All the ingredients and a regimen guide are listed on their website. So before choosing the products that suite your skin you need to do a bit of research in the ingredients. In my experience this makes you more involved in the decisions you make about your skincare and you also gain more knowledge about skincare ingredients.

Before I start to review the products I would like to discuss my skin type. At the moment my skin is dry and sensitive. This is why I’ve ordered the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I’ve been using the products for about two weeks and I can already see a difference in my skin. I use the Hyaluronic Acid in the morning after cleansing and before the Natural Moisturizing Factors. The Hyaluronic Acid sinks into the skin immediately after applying, but still feels nourishing to the skin. I experienced the same with the moisturizer, which I use after the hyaluronic Acid and before SPF. It sinks into the skin right after applying and doesn’t feel greasy at all. After using these products for about two weeks I feel like my skin is more balanced during the day. It also doesn’t feel dry during the day or at the end of the day and my skin looks more nourished.

To get hold of them in The Netherlands you can order them off Beauty Bay, Asos or the Deciem website. The products that I really would like to try next are the Vitamine C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% and the Advaned Retinoid 2%. Though I hope that the retinoid doesn’t dry out my skin too much.

Let me know if you tried any Deciem products and which one you would recommend!
