I’ve always liked the taste of a good chai latte, but I’ve also found that they’re always full of sugar and artificial flavours. So when I came across the instagram account of Molina Chai I was immediately excited about their products.
Molina Chai makes Chai Latte powders that don’t contain any refined sugar or artificial flavours. Their powders are 100% natural and (most exciting for me) lactose + gluten free! I’ve always searched for lactose free chai latte powders, but I’ve never been able to find any. And I have to say that a lot of chai latte powders contain a lot of sugar!
Molina Chai uses a lot of organic spices, for example Darjeeling black tea. They use spices from all over the world to make this Chai latte tast like the best you can get. For example they use cinnamon from Asia and lavender from Europe, which they display on a world map (on their website).
They currently have four different flavours: Chennai Vegan, Madagascar, Mesoamerica and Kerala. The Chennai Vegan is chai latte with the classic blend of Masala chai spices. Madagascar has a twist with Vanille Bourbon, while Mesoamerica has lavender, chocolate, chili and almonds to twist the flavour. And last but not least Karela, which is closest to the original blend with Indonesian galangal root.
My favourite flavour is the classic blend from the Chennai Vegan. I love the taste of the chai latte spices and in my opinion the Chennai Vegan is the best one! This doesn’t mean that I don’t like the other three blends! I think Molina Chai does an awesome job creating these blends and I hope in the future they’ll expand their collection with some more exiting flavours or other blends!
