Why do you want to use Weleda arnica after a workout? I can imagine most people have sore muscles the day after a workout and maybe it’s even worse the second day after. You’ve probably seen lots of Weleda products on my blog lately. Before I’m going to tell you all about arnica I wanted to say that this post is not sponsored by Weleda. My experience with muscle soreness
I’ve always been very sensitive to sore and aching muscles after a workout. I never forget the first practice after the summer holidays when I still did elite gymnastics. The day after my muscles were always so sore that I was barely able to move around. Nowadays my workouts aren’t as intense compared to doing elite gymnastics, but I still have that sensitivity in my muscles. In the Weleda city spa, you also can book a sports massage, where they also use the Weleda arnica products!
What is arnica?
Arnica is a plant that grows mainly high in the mountains. The oil of the arnica plant is used for anti-inflammatory purposes. Usually, the oil is an ingredient for a gel that helps against bruises and sprains. Arnica is commonly used in homeopathic medicine and at least in Holland arnica gel is being sold over the counter in almost every chemist.
Weleda Arnica Products
I was very excited to see that Weleda launched a sports range with arnica as the main ingredient. This Arnica range consists of 4 products: Shower gel, Weleda arnica muscle soak, Weleda arnica massage balm, and Weleda arnica cream. If you don’t have a bath at home, you can use the bath milk for my occasional foot bath. But I use the other three products very often! The Sports gel is more for ‘injury’ type of muscle soreness. The shower gel in combination with the body oil is amazing after every workout. It really helps my body to recover quicker and it results in less muscle soreness!
